Connection, Culture and Celebration on Groote Eylandt

Posted by Lauren Davidson on

There are moments in business that are bigger than the work itself. Moments grounded in culture, community, and connection. Recently, Bush Medijina had the privilege of welcoming Lauren Davidson of Virtual Team Australia, visiting Groote Eylandt to help us capture the heart of our story through photography and video.

This visit wasn’t just about content creation. It was about walking on Country, listening deeply, and sharing time with the women who carry the knowledge and traditions of our community.

Storytelling on Country

During her time on Groote Eylandt, Lauren joined the Bush Medijina team for a series of cultural activities that reflect our identity and our way of life. From spear making to stingray catching, each moment highlighted the strength and resilience of the women who lead our organisation. Sharing lunch together on Country created the space for connection, conversation, and reflection. These are the moments that shape real storytelling.

A Partnership Built on Respect

Having Lauren with us was an opportunity to showcase who we are in an honest and grounded way. Her genuine respect for culture and her warm approach made the experience deeply meaningful. Through her lens, our community was seen with care, capturing the stories and traditions that guide our work every day.

Looking Ahead With Strength

This collaboration marks the beginning of something much bigger. Proud moments like this remind us why we do what we do — supporting our women, celebrating our culture, and sharing the beauty of Groote Eylandt with the world.

As we continue to grow, partnerships like this help us honour our roots while building a strong future shaped by connection and collaboration.
