This unique collaboration brings together the expertise of individuals deeply rooted in the rich tapestry of Indigenous art and storytelling, combined with the flair for sleek, tailored designs.
Drawing inspiration from the ancient traditions and storytelling of the Noongar Nations and the colours of the southwest, the Evoke Collection is a celebration of heritage and contemporary creativity. Each piece in the collection is a testament to the shared vision of the designers and artists, who have come together to infuse Indigenous artistry with modern design sensibilities.
From elegant dresses to tailored suits each piece is not only a work of art but also a symbol of respect for Indigenous culture and a testament to the power of collaboration to create something truly extraordinary.
AMANDA HEALY
Proud Wonnarua woman Amanda Healy founded luxury fashion brand Kirrikin Australia in 2004 after identifying a need for Indigenous representation in the fashion industry, as well as on the shoulders of everyday people during their every day experiences.
In its 10th year, the brand has become one of Australia’s most loved Indigenous owned and inspired brands. Incorporating elements of Indigenous art and culture, Kirrikin creates unique and vibrant pieces that celebrate Indigenous Australia. More than just a label, this social enterprise is committed to supporting Aboriginal communities by collaborating with artists to create its designs and provides economic opportunities by sharing profits.
KIERA GENTLE
Wadjuk and Balardong designer Keira Gentle is proving herself as one to watch in the Australian fashion industry as she recently collaborated with Kirrikin Australia on the new Evoke collection. After graduating Advanced Diploma of Fashion Textiles Design and Merchandising at North Metropolitan TAFE, Keira is exploring her niche in the industry and has offered a new take on Kirrikin designs with tailored fits and strong lines.
Keira shares Kirrikin’s passion and deep respect for Indigenous culture and has moved seamlessly with the brand creating pieces that honour its traditions while also pushing creative boundaries.
BUFFIE PUNCH
Buffie Punch is a proud woman of the Noongar nations born in Albany, Western Australia. Known for her unique jewellery pieces, Buffie has made a name for herself in WA through her work incorporating traditional Indigenous designs and materials, reflecting her cultural heritage and vision. Exhibiting her designs at numerous community and corporate stalls, Buffie ensures mob and allies can represent Indigenous art and culture on all occasions.
Buffie has collaborated with Kirrikin Australia in this special collection showcasing her artwork “Boodja” and “Gungarra” on the labels luxury fabrics sharing Kirrikin’s enthusiasm and dedication to cultural preservation and story telling.
